Any ideas on a service manual?

They produced a minimal service manual for the first release and then dropped it. It's pretty useless, frankly. I probably still have it.

After that initial one, you had to be a pretty large customer to get service or cal instructions from them. They wanted them to come home for service.

I would just like a few viable test points to verify the power supplies, CPU, Memory, input plug in and particularly in the CRT display.

I have a service manual but but it is pretty disjointed with bits of information all over the place. It provides some diagnostic information but relies heavily on signature analysis for testing the digital circuitry. The signature analysis seems to also require the use of a diagnostic board and a custom test box for which no internal details are provided.

I don't have time to scan all the documentation at the moment but if you let me know the main area you are interested in I will attempt to scan a few pages. Unfortunately, most of the schematics are of exceptionally poor quality and I am doubtful whether I can successfully scan them.

I have two Data 6000s and would love to have a scan of the service manual, no matter how minimal. Both of mine need some caps replaced for sure. These definitely aren't the most serviceable....especially the plugins. 4-6 stacked PCBs.

The great feature of the 6000 was the excellent library of builtin math functions for signal processing, quite unique in its day. We used to call it "a professor in a box".
The great headache was the user interface.
The hidden gotcha is, there are no tracking antialiasing filters on the digitizer inputs. So you gotta bandwidth-limit the stimulus and/or response to ( Nyquist * 0.8 ).
Analogic A2D converters were cutting edge in their day.

My apologies, I spoke too soon. I found the binder, but it's empty. Which means I tossed the contents out a few months ago. Sorry...

Moving forward, clipped and replaced numerous Tant capacitors,as they failed, throughout.
The last was a challenge,  the two-channel plug-in Analogic DC to DC converter five volt input short circuit failed.
Knifing the Analogic module shield PCB from the enclosure, found two electrolytic caps, one of which had failed (short circuit).
Fortunately, the encapsulent is crystal clear and soft enough test and to snip the offending cap lead.
Now have mainframe boards and plug in (all supplies) working but still no display.
Will be testing for deflection yoke scan wave forms and HF/HV supply next.

Yeah, the digitizing plugins are no fun to take apart and work on.
I have parts/replacement boards for the 6000 mainframe if you need any. A few plugin parts units too.
