Name that fuse!
« on: December 07, 2023, 01:44:30 am »
Currently repairing a HDBaseT unit (HDMI over Cat6) which has been damaged by a sparkie "helping out".

Have four of these fuses as part of the PoH (their version of power over the data cable) circuit.

I know they are Littelfuse (in the 4532 / 1812 package) but after reading multiple data sheets can't see them following regular manufacturer markings.

It's also not clear if they are fuses or PPTC units.

Any thoughts?

Thanks!

Quick answer .

I understand that the one you have linked is a 24v unit verses the 16 from the photo…

Thanks again!

Bonus points - I’ve just pulled the board out of the chassis to keep testing and prepping and found more damage on the underside. Marked DT I’m guessing they are transient diodes of some sort perhaps.

My google skills are poor today  :o

Seems like it could be a SMF15A.  Uni-directional TVS diode 15V, 200W.  https://www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/Littelfuse/SMF15A?qs=zMpzAB%2FftDfu7OqK5zgklA%3D%3D

There are a bunch of smd marking code search engines.  But hotenda.com tends be on point for future reference.

Close but no cigar on that second set of diodes.

After a part removal the board is clearly marked for polarity so figuring directional TVS or Schottky. Package is a gull wing about 44 x 35 mm so close to a SMB DO-215AA.

Hotenda got me this : https://www.hotenda.com/marking-code/search/part/SMBG15CA.html

Which seems to meet most of the criteria...
