Datron 1082 multimeter firmware issue ?
« on: May 02, 2020, 03:48:20 pm »
Hello,

I observed a strange phenomenon on my Datron 1082 DMM:

Here you can see it, measuring a stable 10V source after one hour warm-up:

The 1Hz-filter and the 'Hi-Res'-mode  is activated.

To have a more stable result, I tried the 'block-mode', in this case with n=10.
What then happended makes we wonder:

The conversion result ist 25 (!) Digits lower. If I switch the block mode off, the result will
be same as before. Changing the number of block-mode cycles to e.g. 20 has the same result.

For me this looks like a firmware error … but I am not sure.
My Datrons firmware version:

My question to other DATRON 107x- and 108x-user:

Does your Datron do the same ?

Thanks

macfly

I suspect a bad IC contact or a bad IC.

If you want to do a check here is the firmware of a Datron 1082, but I don't know if it is the same version.

Hello picburner,

thanks for the link. I have just no EPROM programer and the right EPROM type, but it's worth a try.

@ dacman

I agree with you. A hardware issue is most likely.

But the point is, that both measure-modes use the same hardware.
