hello everyon
my usb meter FNB 58 is dead and i need your help to see if i can repair it.
it was connected to a high quality but fake samsung 45w charger and there was multiple short circuits. i involuntarily short circuited the charger and the tester was connected to it turning on and off because the charger protection was working. i realized my mistake and stopped .meter was working then but after a few hours of rest, when i tried to use the meter it was completely dead. i think probabley it was heated during short circuits and after a few hours of not working, it went to the next world. i don't know for sure though.
my frined opended it for me.
there is a component which gets hot when we connect the meter to a power source, I attached a pic of the component.
it is a very expensive device in my country and i had the device only for one month.
please help me if possoble.
thanks

If it heats up it might be dead or the consequence of something else failing.
What is the marking on that chip?
The first line looks like MJ4
The second line is much more difficult to read 8J3, or 3J8?, or ??? Maybe with light shining from another angle it is easier to read
What is that chip connected to, what is the function of that chip?
Have you asked FNRSI for help?
