« on: April 19, 2021, 01:01:47 pm »
hi all,ive just brought this non working monitor, all that happens on power on is the standby light in the power button flashes amber briefly once about every 5 seconds, checked various voltages on the main board, they rise and fall in sync with the power button led,all fusible resistors look ok,any ideas, will try and attach the service manual if it lets me,cheers in advance,ps,all the caps check ok for esr.the service manual is too big so heres a link:https://www.manualslib.com/manual/794321/Dell-2209wa.html

Shorted diode at the secondary side? Shorted load? Feedback problem? Issue with the power supply of the switching controller?

sorted it,it was a shorted schotty rectifier diode, replaced it with one from an old smps, works fine now, brought the monitor from ebay as spares or repair, not bad for £19 and a couple of hours work.
