dell inspiron 1720 backlight

Hi all i have a dell inspiron 1720 lappy about 3 months ago the backlight went out,first i fitted another screen and that lasted about 5 mins before it did the same,luckily i had another spare screen so fitted that and all was fine untill a few days ago and the same problem !,my question is would it just be down to age or could a faulty inverter kill the backlight tube?.tia

can no one help on this,as i dont want to replace the screen just to have the inverter possibly nuke the ccfl! .
