Dell U3014, LG panel, repair advice sought
« on: October 06, 2020, 11:39:50 pm »
Hello,

I have a Dell U3014 monitor, revision A04, manufactured September 2014.  The display started malfunctioning about six months ago and it now looks like the attached picture.  The vertical white section moves from side to side, which I assume is the artifact of the "no signal detected" alert moving around.

I have attempted to repair this already by changing the timing controller card, but the output is the same before and after.  Now I'm out of ideas (although I saw a video about replacing a diode on a similar Dell model), and I am now seeking suggestions from the good people here on how to fix it.

For interest, the panel itself is made by LG, but I'm not sure of the model right now, because the back is still on the casing (it's pretty tricky to get off and on).

Thank you very much for any suggestions or advice.

If there are no issues with power coming to T-CON, then IMHO LCD panel is dead.
