Denon 1508 protection fault repair notes

Denon  AVR-1508 going in to protection mode on power up. Checked power supply found 7815 regulator on power supply board faulty and outputting 22v. Replaced reg and also reflowed any suspect solder on board. Amp now working.

Also quite common on AVRs of that era is bad 7915 regulators with KIA branding.

This was a KIA, but the 7815. They run them so hot, it's no wonder they failed. I've also had a later Denon with a failed 7805.
