Denon PM-770 Amplifier
« on: April 22, 2020, 12:54:02 pm »
Hi there girls and guys,

I am a little at lost with this amp. I am recaping the amp an came over some caps in the machine that are lower in capacitance then it is stated in the service manual and parts list.  I took out of the machine 0,47uF/50v but the part list and schematic states 220uF/16v.
Now the caps in the machine don't look very old (the amp is from 1984) but the company that makes these caps (Nippon Chemi-Con Corparation) is around sinds 1931. Even the printed icons on the pcb for the dodgy caps are much larger then the cap that was soldered in.

Does anyone has some advice on how I can tackle this and determine what the truth is here?
