Diode replacement
« on: February 04, 2019, 01:56:27 am »
Hi, as a hobbyist with no real training I just wondered if anyone could give me some advice on a repair I am attempting on an amplifier main board in a Sony speaker system.
I have established that there is a short on the 5v rail of the board and having probed around to find the lowest path of resistance (almost 0 ohms) to be on a Schottky diode SS34B as I have none of these to replace it with but do have some B340A's which have very similar characteristics, does anyone know if this would make a suitable replacement or am I best buying some of the correct part in?

I would say is just manufacturer numbering system. Good Replacement, Good to go.

Edit: Of course, one of them is 1mm longer in length [SMA vs SMB]
