Does the Yamaha RX-V1000 have a diagnostics mode?
« on: May 05, 2015, 09:29:41 pm »
Hey guys!  I scored an RX-V1000 from a local thrift store knowing it was not functioning.  Before I open her up, I wanted to know if it has a diagnostic mode like I hear so much about with other models.  At the moment, when I push the power button, all I hear is the relay clicking on and then back off after a couple of seconds.  There is no display of any kind.  Would a diagnostic screen come up regardless (that is, if it has one)?

Thank you!

Nevermind guys.  I was PM'ed with the service manual.  It indeed has a diag mode.  It also has two  22 picofarad caps.  Hopefully it will just be a simple fix with either one of those being bad.
