Dremel 3000 not working (switch)
« on: December 11, 2014, 06:12:46 pm »
Hello,

I am having issues with my dremel. It is fairly new, however, the machine no longer turns on (at any variable speed level). I opened it up and i think I discovered the problem. I have done some research and have seen that this model dremel (the 3000) has issues with the switch. I am not an expert in electronics but I am pretty sure that what I found is not right. Check the picture that goes along with this post.

I saw a post with a similar issue and the person replying suggested two parts, however i am not sure which one i need. The page that sells the parts is a bit ambiguous in the product description (there is none).

Here are the links:

Anyways, let me know what you guys think.

Thanks,
cHops

Is it under warranty? That's a manufacturing defect in my books.

Looks like burnt resistor. I think, that if the motor itself is OK, you can short the regulator and use external one, any triac-dimmer will do.

Yes it is under warranty, but rather than spending the money and time on shipping it to them for them to tell me that they cant fix it, I would rather buy the part if it is a cheap fix.

What about links to the replacement parts that i posted? Would any of those work for this?

Thanks
