dsn-vc288 firmware
« on: December 30, 2018, 03:41:07 pm »
Hello,
I got one of these Chinese volt-ammeters (dsn-vc288) with a blown 3.3 volt regulators, that in turn killed the STM8S103F3. I already have the parts at hand and attempting to fix though the whole thing is cheap at ebay. Any chance or anyone help getting the code/ firmware for the STM8??

BR

Haven't tried to dump the OEM firmware, but I have come across an open-source alternative firmware - https://github.com/cocus/vc288-alt-fw/

Also, a channel "Upcycle Electronics" has reverse engineered the specs, which may be useful if as you try to fix it - https://github.com/Upcycle-Electronics/DSN-VC288

Keep us posted, I would love to see more English info on repairing these chips - they are low cost but often arrive with issues

The chip is fried so it's being replaced.  STM8 are quite easy to program.
I know about provided github's, but thanks. The alternative firmware have a bunch of TODOs so its no something to start with and not fully fledged as of author's statement.
