Dumpster dive Siemens Sitop 6ep1 336-3ba00-8AA0
« on: July 21, 2020, 12:15:53 pm »
Hi all,

My first time that I found something useful in a dumpster, I found a Siemens PSU sitop 6ep1 336-3ba00-8AA0,  a 24V 20A single phase power supply.

it was in the dumpster for a reason, it doesn't work, I took it apart and found a leaking capacitor, replaced it tried again and it doesn't work... not even a pip..

I don't have experience repairing this kind to stuff but if some one has a schematic of the psu so I can give a try.

Thanks,
Ricardo

Like with all SMPSU - dangerous high voltage inside, even if switched off. Like in "life-taking dangerous". You really should be knowing what you are doing when trying to repair this stuff.

Thanks for the warning.

that's why I don't want to be probing around without having anything.

If one capacitor was bad then it is very likely there are more, especially of the same model/series.
Caps works worse when cold, therefore heating a device can sometimes make it possible to start.
Indeed I have had an identical Sitop PSU (albeit 3-phase) with this behavior. (Unit was replaced with a new one).
Post some pictures of the unit and it is easier to give suggestions.
