Dumpster Find Philips TV Repair
« on: October 14, 2020, 07:06:38 pm »
Salvaged Philips 20PHH4109/88 (made 11/2014) stuck in boot loop. Tried replacing the caps in power supply, added few extra to unpopulated places, measured power rails, only one 1,5V rail is tuning off for a moment when it reboots. Main 12V rail is at 11,9VDC.

:horse: ?

easy route:
write down LCD panel model, go to ebay, find $5-10 universal lcd driver board auction, message seller if your panel is compatible/can be programmed and if he has ready made cable for it.
Who logs in to gdm? Not I, said the duck.
My fireplace is on fire, but in all the wrong places.

This is usually a software/firmware issue when it comes to endless reboot.

Check the location of the eeprom chip (firmware is usually stored here) and see if you are able to find the TV's firmware online. Then you will need to flash the firmware onto a new eeprom chip (assuming your old chip is defective).

eeprom programmer required (costly).

Worth a shot though.
