Title: EEV Blog Brymen BM235 true rms multimeter repair question
Post by: jimthegreek on July 29, 2022, 11:52:40 pm
I have a eevblog brymen meter that I purchased appx. 2-3 years ago. When i turn the meter on from the off position to the first position which is for voltage, the meter works. If I move the selector switch past that position to any other position, the display is blank. I replaced the batteries twice but I dont know why it doesnt work. Can someone tell me what to do? I hardly used the meter and it stopped working. Thanks.

At this point might as well take it apart and inspect the rotary switch?

Also look for any signs of battery ooze on the PCB.
Hiw did you first notice the problem? Long storage, batteries dead, replaced, DMM defective?

Mine has done that from day one, I found that rotating the selector switch real fast back in forth cleans the contacts and then it starts working again. I suppose I could take it apart and burnish the selector contacts but I'm lazy.
