This past week my EGO mower would only run for a few minutes on a recharged battery, very unusual. Same thing happened with my Ryobi weed whacker battery. First I thought it might be the batteries' life span or perhaps a defect. However I found that the battery contacts had developed oxidation. All were cleaned with a fine metal brush, followed by contact cleaner. All batteries are now charging fully and working. This may help others who have developed the same problem..
Over the years I've depended more and more on electrical outdoor equipment and really never paid attention to maintenance such as I did with gas powered equipment but now I realize the contacts on the battery, charger, and the equipment itself need periodic cleaning.
