Electronic bathroom scales repair
« on: April 30, 2017, 05:57:00 pm »
Hi! I accidentally broke the electronic scales at my local gym while trying to weigh gym weights (Started showing +60kg )  :-// . I brought them back home to try and fix them . The problem probably lies in one of the four sensors. While three sensors have a resistance of around 2kOhm between white and black wires, the fourth sensor has a resistance of 6kOhms. What should I do ? Could I just throw out one sensor and connect one of the other sensors instead? ( so that 1 sensor would act as two) . I know that the weight would have to be exactly in the middle to show precise results, but I only need them to work with acceptable precision.
The model is sencor sbs 6015 bk.

Thanks for the advice :)
By the way, now the scales show either ---- or always 81.4kg when you step on them.

Unlikely it will work.  Even if you find a new sensor to put in it would still need recalibrating and I doubt you find the data for that anywhere.

But really, it's a sub-€30 scale. Is the repair effort worth it?
