Title: Electronic Load BK 8540 Fried due to wrong polarity
Post by: AndrewJCS on July 14, 2023, 09:47:55 am
Hello, I have accidentally fried a resistor on my my BK Precision 8540.

I believe the resistor is from a snubber circuit. It's R2 (attached picture) and it's measuring around 2.2ohms in its fried state, but I believe it should be more like 100-200ohms.

I don't suppose anyone here has this particular load and could take it apart to verify? It would be much appreciated

Thanks!

But this could also be a fuse resistor!
And then the resistance value would be in the expected order of magnitude.

well the first value is brown it looks like, that is a 1.

I bet a 110 ohm resistor would work. Wanna bet its generic? Something between 100 and 140.
