Epson EB 675wi power supply repair

(1/2) > >>

gkmaia:
I recently purchased an Epson EB 675wi projector.

There is no sign or life in it. So decided to start through the power supply.

There two output connectors.

One goes to the main board.
Pins 1,2 and 3 have no voltage. I suspect they may be switches controlled by the motherboard.
Pins 4,8,9 and GNDs.
Pin 5,6,7 have 10VDC
Pin 10 3.3VDC

The second connector at the base of the 400VDC caps connects to another board. I believe could be a step up high-voltage, not sure. Howver I get only 1.5v there and considering the high voltage caps I suspect something may be wrong. Or one of the 3 switches on the main board connector enable that output.

Anyone out there with some experience with this particular power supply?

If you are really lucky on the bottom of the power supply or on the board that the low voltage connector plugged into there may be silk screen markings of what each pin does or a voltage listed.  Judging by your voltages it at least looks like the standby power is active.  Can you see if the power button on the projector has 3.3V on it?  You may also be able to find a service manual for this unit but I could be wrong.

G'day gkmaia,

Can we see a pic of the other side of the PCB?

The attached may assist you with fault finding.

I did find a service manual after deep seach however no voltages documented. Very high level maintenance and troubleshooting.
