Epson projector EH-TW3200 bulb issue
(1/1)
reyntjensm:
I have an Epson EH-TW3200 projector doing strange things with the bulb.
The device turns on as it should, starts to project an image and shuts down after about 20sec.
Blinking LED indicates a defective bulb. It's strange as this bulb only has about 200 hours and I would expect the bulb to not turn on at all if its broken.
Any advice on this? Does the bulb has any kind of driver circuit in this type of device?

Gyro:
Cheap aftermarket lamps can cause this sort of problem because the ballast monitors the discharge voltage for imminent lamp failure detection. The aftermarket ones tend to use a generic discharge tube rather than one that matches the original manufacturer lamp characteristics.

I don't know if that's the problem in this case but I've seen similar behavior with Infocus projectors.
