whats going on guys, i dropped my little screwdriver (miniware es121) and the screen broke, no big deal, ordered a replacement, but the drive of the screwdriver became sporadic and would go on and off in bursts while using it. Dove into it a little bit more and noticed a little crack on an smd component (in pics), so i used my exacto knife and pulled the piece to see if it indeed was a crack, and it was. it took off a little chunk to reveal some copper windings inside (at least thats what it looks to be)
I know the es121 is "open source" but i think that is just the firmware rather than hardware etc. so i could not find a component schematic
i do believe this is an SMD inductor but i thought to employ the you guys to help me investigate

.
here are my questions:
1: is this component in fact, an inductor?
2: do i just measure to find the dimensions, and then how do i correlate that to a size of component, in name, for ordering purposes
3: how do i find characteristics needed for this component (measuring mH or something along those lines)
I do appreciate the help, im very new to schematics and component level repair, and i appreciate any help.
Also, does a cracked component like an inductor mean its typically failed? and exhibiting the symptoms i described be possible from a faulty inductor? just want to see if im on the right track and not missing something, this component does happen to be right next to the 3 axis accelerometer - MX6208
