Escort EGC-2230 Function Generator
« on: September 18, 2015, 03:58:12 pm »
Hi,
I got an defect Escort EGC-2230 Function Generator from a local school the transformer is bunt and does not output anything.
If anyone has one and can measure the AC output voltages from the transformer i would be very grateful.
Everything on the power supply except the transformer measures fine.

Thanks in advance.

Check the voltage rating of capacitors. If there is a 2200uF 16V, then there should be a 12V transformer for example. Is there a integrated voltage stabiliser like 7812 in TO220 package?

there is two taps on the transformer each one goes to four diode for rectification one has a 16v cap and the other one three 25v caps.
there is two regulators on the board one ha17805 5V and one ha17815 15V.

So it might be 8V and 18V on the mains transformer... Or 2×9V.
