Extract data from Galaxy S2 eMMC

Hi all,

Many years ago I went travelling to Europe. One of my brilliant ideas at the time was to use those Wifi enabled SD-Cards on my camera which backed up your photos to your phone as you took them.

When I returned home my phone died and I discovered that it had stored the photos to the internal memory. I put the phone away to deal with lately as I couldn't find anyone who would do more than replace the circuit board - which defeats the purpose...

Now, many years later, I decided to start investigating how to get the photos off. Conceptually, through research, I know how to get the data off it by removing the chip (BGA) - however the process seems high risk without the right skill or equipment. I see lots of talk of 'popping'.

I have also seen people soldering thin wires onto the PCB itself and accessing the data with the chip in place, however, I can't see a way to work out where to solder the wires to (independent of skill) - the schematics don't show how its wired up on the board.

So my question is - where do I go from here? Does anyone have any further information I can follow? Is there someone I can pay to do it or at least part of the process?
