Hi,
I have got this current measuring tool, which is not working now, I have found the faulty diode for sure because I applied 12v which factory indicates that 3.7v up to 12v is OKAY!
Anyway I really appreciate it if anyone can help me find out the part number, or what can i replace it with? It's only written AE on it.

Nice so the datasheet said 12v is fine so you put 12v 500amps through it but expect it to work?
Some content would help is it a rectifier diode a Zener diode and Schotkey, what configuration is it installed in. Is there a series resistor which has gone faulty!
Just saying I have a bad diode because I killed it is Illogical

I don't have datasheet but the box says 12v 3a is fine, because this thing is current measuring tool for mobile technicians for repairing and all.
what I did just connected to a power supply with 12v 1a output and I guess got busted.
It's mechanic brand product (Chinese Products) so I don't have access to schematics. I'm gonna open it up and take a picture and see which type of diode it is.

These 4 element which is resistor, diode and cap they’re all shorted to ground,
How can I tell which one it is?

+1 for the 5V TVS besides they are easy to destroy by excessive reverse voltage.
The small 300k resistor won't be shorted.
The ceramic capacitor could be but wouldn't be my first option.
The larger resistor is a low value so depending on circuit you could be reading that.
Still I'd desolder the diode and check it out of circuit.

Found out it’s the diode, big resistor and the IC.
Desoldered then and the short is gone, I’m happy for that but sad part is I won’t be able to find the same part to replace them :-BROKE
Diode is shorted, resistor shows only 3 ohms and ic was burning so after desoldering it short was gone.
I didn’t search the part number for ic and couldn’t really find anything useful.
Out of curiosity, is there anyway to tell what that diode is? No access to data sheet at all.
Is normal that 3 components get short together?
It’s sad I can’t use it anymore as my tool.

The 3 banded cathode mark looks like Vishay's.

The R050 resistor is an 0.050 ohm power resistor.
The TC4056A IC is a battery charger:
