finding suitable mosfet substitute
« on: March 19, 2023, 12:40:08 am »
Hi guys,

I am repairing an old instrument that has all the pwoer mosfet gone..
I have to find suitable replacement for the PSU.

1) The old one is 2SK2372 and the substitute will be IXTQ26N50P-ND
2) The old one is 2SK2488 and the substitute will be IXFH12N100P-ND

Do you think that they will work? I had a limited choice because I have to order another ton of components and this are the only one that I think that are right.
Both mosfets are the used in a switching PSU.

Unfortualy the only options I have are the one I listed, no one of all the above mentioned MOSFET are available, only the IRFP460 but the VGSS is +-20 instead of +- 30 of the original.
What do you think about the replacement I found?

The 2 alternatives you mentioned is comparable with the original types

When used in SMPS, you have to look at capacitance, gate charge and timing as well as the "normal" parameters like Voltage, Current
