A few weeks ago, I found an old amplifier for a car that has two CA810 Amp ICs. There are a few problem. The first was it was missing a pin, so I put the IC on a header, ground down the plastic package until I hit the top of the pin, then I soldered a new copper pin to the IC. It doesn't look that good, but it works like new.
The next problem, I broke one of the resistors for the circuit in half removing it from a board. I am pretty sure I cannot glue this back together. It is a 1 Ohm resistor. Online, there are some ways to create resistors, but they all seem kind of 3rd world sketchy. The nichrome wire method seemed promising, but I cannot get a stable 1 Ohm resistance from it. Is there a simple way I can make this 1 Ohm resistor? A trip to the electronics store for me is a whole day event just to get there and get back home.
Thanks!
