HI all,
First time poster so be kind!
I was lucky enough to acquire 2x HP Z820 workstations from my work place, they were going to be thrown out so I guess its classed as a pre-dumpster dive rescue!
After the installation of a pcie wifi adapter the Z820 would not turn back on, the only thing that had changed from when I had turned it off to when I tried to turn it back on was the installation of that pcie card. Lucky I had two of the Z820 and swapped out the PSU and the computer booted up and operated normally.
I did think that I had isolated the issued, a dead psu, a Delta electronics DPS-1125ABA REV 04, however after opening it up, doing a basic visual inspection (no bulging caps) and checking a fuse with my multimeter, then plugging it in to power (while still on my desk out of the computer) it looks to be working. The cooling fans at the back spin up and the green led lights up. I'm at work currently so I can not swap it back into the computer, I will do when I get home.
I have not measured voltages yet as I dont have pinouts or schematics, oh and my experience level is somewhere between beginner and intermediate, i.e. I get nervous working anywhere near 240v stuff.
Does anybody have experience with these PSU and/or can provide me with schematics and pin outs, google has not been very helpful.
Thanks
Andrew
