Hello fellow people;
I took my minolta weathermatic film camera underwater recently, evidently the water seals are faulty and salt water was able to seep inside.
Once realising this, I removed the batteries from the camera, but by this point the four AAA batteries had emptied their pixies into a component within the camera.
The unit is extremely repairable, it was very easy to open and remove the entire camera assembly, and I have identified a single component as the likely suspect.
I am unsure what this component is though as it does not match any known package of transistor I have seen before, it has three legs and is stamped 'em' on one side. the other side is blown out with no chance of identifying what it used to say if anything.
I believe the camera gets feedback somehow on the state of the flash, as the camera itself will not operate with this flash pcb removed from the main camera assembly.
I have been able to remove the failed component from the board, and have access to the three traces that once connected to it, so if I can identify what this component WAS then I can hopefully install a replacement part of a close enough value.
I have some high res photos available here:

And a scan of the pcb / traces here:

I would appreciate any assistance
thank you
