Fluke 341/343 change sheet for LED indicators
« on: March 23, 2021, 10:45:49 am »
All:

Does anyone have the documentation for the change from lamps to LED indicators for the Fluke 341/343 DC standards?  The latest manual that I can find does not cover this modification.

TIA,

Hal

did you solve this ?`
DS4, DS5, DS6, DS7 are 24V bulbs in the manual
but many units allready have LED in the 3 range indicators, like mine had
a normal 5mm LED will fit fine, just add 3k6 series resistor to a 202x age LED, and you see plenty of light..
i changed the 3 range dots to green, seems more logical to me.

the on-indicator is more likely bulbs, the hole in the metal tube fitted back side is impossible to remove, please dont try,
but here a 3mm led fit fine, again add 3k6 and a new age 3mm red led, here you cant change the color due to the colored transparent difuser

just let the 240 R series resistors for the bulbs sit where they are,
this way you modify as little as possible.

by the way : genius design with series resistors for bulbs, peak currents will be much less,
and bulb lifetime will be long.

Been a while - haven't looked at it since due to other priorities - but from what I remember mine did not have any lamps at all - it is a later version with the LEDs and i don't have an accurate schematic.  Other things were changed as well and the voltages did not match up and, since it didn't work, I was trying to figure out if that was by design or a symptom.

Also, the only manual that i am able to find is the one dated 1969 - that is why I was hoping that there would be an updated version or at least change sheets available.

Would but I would have to find it. The "priorities" have involved building and moving into a new house - and having to buy a 16x52 shed just for the TE.  I do know where it is, but am not going to dig it out until I am ready to work on it - concentrating on getting a usable work area done so I can sort through and *sell* some of that big pile 'o JENGA.  :scared:

oz2cpu -

To be clear, I'm not blowing you off re the pictures, it sounds like you have one that you are trying to get sorted as well and I would love to compare notes and get both of them working at 100% but it really isn't convenient to get to mine at the moment and I'm in the middle of bringing several 3335A's up to spec.  Not to mention that I don't know exactly where my previous repair notes on it are  :-//

And, of course, there's always that pesky real job that I kinda have to pay attention to if I want things like houses, a wonderful wife's patience and pretty TE to play with.  Ten shades of suck for me, I know...
