Title: Fluke 85 - fading display
Post by: newbie666 on March 02, 2018, 07:43:24 am
My fluke started loosing some segments on the display, is it a known issue? Any ideas if there's a fix doable by oneself?

Best regards

Afik this is a known occurrence.
Lots of info on YouTube, but this is the first one I saw.

Same result, but different approach.

Not sure which is the better / correct option.

If you plan to clean the circuit board pads which contact the elastomers - be extremely careful in removing the "top shield" with the little clip things that hold it to the board. The little clips break real easy. If this happens, it's not a deal-breaker, but better to be careful.
