The one final thing I'd do since you think the chip is dead anyways... If you take a dental pick or some other similar sharp pointy object, you should be able to, while heating the pin, bend U4 pin 87 slightly upwardds so it no longer touches the trace. The key is to put upward or outward pressure on the pin and not sideways pressure. AND, you don't need to move it very far, just far enough that it has a gap beween the pin and the board. like maybe 0.5mm or so. That way you can be 100% certain the leakage is coming from U4. |
