Fluke 87V Repair
«

My trusted Fluke as failed
On AC 240Vac it shows 240mv
On Dc 1.5vdc it shows0.15vdc
Could anyone point me in right direction. Looks possibly like a range resistor fault but why would a resistor just fail ??
any advice appreciated
Thanks Dave

Some suggestions/questions.
1. Have you recently had an "oops" moment with some high energy event?
2. Did you lend it out to someone?
3. Try a fresh new 9V battery.
4. What do get when you measure a 1km ohm resistor?
5. Have you recently opened the meter to change a fuse or battery?
6. Are you the original owner and did you buy the meter from an authorized dealer?

Fluke will fix it for free.
In the U.S. they typically ignore their own stated policy regarding authorized dealers and fix anyway.
I'm assuming "RS" is your authorized dealer. If they won't give you satisfaction, contact Fluke directly for options.

I suggest following mzacharias suggestion of contacting RS Components or Fluke for a repair/replacement under warranty since you are the original owner.
