Fluke 893A (1970) differential voltmeter
« on: October 21, 2023, 10:19:18 pm »
A few months ago I acquired one of these (2+1digit KVD) and although I already own a 557 (4+1 digit KVD) and even a HP3420B (6+1digit KVD) The 893A is very interesting since it uses 4(!!) different reference voltages in it's bridge setup: 1.1V; 11V; 110V and 1100V! This means there is NO input voltage divider on the 100 and 1000V ranges: when the null meter reads "0", input resistance is infinite since no current is flowing from the DUT!
One little problem only: after replacing the suspected Elcos the unit does not work. Reference are there and in spec but the schematics I have are too unreadable to be of any use.
Artek does'nt have these, so this is my request: Has anyone out there usable copies of this manual?

KO4BB's site has a reasonably good scan of this manual. The text and the schematics seem quite readable but the photos are less clear.

I have a hard copy of this manual, date May 1969, and will scan a few pages if you have some particular pages where you need clearer versions. I won't scan the whole manual as that would require undoing the brittle plastic binding combs, probably destroying them in the process.
