Fog machine overheating?
« on: May 01, 2019, 09:45:35 pm »
Hi there,

I am in a bit of a worry. I bought 2 second hand Chauvet Geyser P6 fog machines a few weeks ago. I have tested them both and they worked. I had noticed that one of the machines was taking a bit longer to warm up. At least thats what i thought.
Thing is, these units costed €200 each and replacing them is not an option at this point. So i made a little video to show exactly what this machine is doing right now.

I have started the fogmachine a bit earlier so its still a bit hot but at 00:38 the led on the remote unit turns green indicating the unit is ready to smoke. Also the temperature is about 220 which is good.

Thing is the red and blue led's are still flashing. Now through the calibration menu i discovered that these indicate the temperature but not the one as shown on the screen. Red seems to mean the machine is warming up, solid blue means ready to fire and blinking blue means the machine needs to cool down.

As hown in the video, the blue led is solid for 10 seconds and start blinking for a minute before the unit is ready again. But this same routine goes on even if i dont hit the fire button.

Something is clearly wrong but i dont know exactly what to look for.

Hope you can help me out a bit on where to look for.
