iCharger 406DUO is sad
« on: July 20, 2016, 05:41:02 am »
Hi all,

I've got an iCharger 406DUO with a problem. It was left out overnight and got covered in dew, and unfortunately it got powered up before drying out the next day.

It started acting up and now it just resets/cycles repeatedly when trying to boot. There's a ticking noise coming from somewhere on the board when it resets. Probably one of the giant inductors.

Any ideas where to start - or, can anyone here repair or recommend a repairer for iChargers in Australia. I'm in Brisbane but can post it.

Simple stuff I can do myself, but diagnosis of this one is beyond me.

There's no sign of any physical component failure or corrosion on the board, and I've cleaned it thoroughly with isopropyl.

Cheers!
Mark
