Fubared mosfet in induction heater
« on: March 30, 2016, 01:49:44 pm »
Last week I received an induction heater toy from Banggood.  This one http://www.banggood.com/5V-12V-ZVS-Induction-Heating-Power-Supply-Module-With-Coil-p-1015637.html

Unfortunately it was a DOA (BG is sending a refund), it emitted the magical smoke on first powerup (dead short between the power input terminals).

Doing some investigation and it looks one (or maybe both) of the mosfets (?) is/are dead.

Sofar I have not found the magical Google search string to identify it.  Someone who has a clue based on attached picture?

I'm NOT 100% sure, but my best guess so far is...

ON Semiconductor NTB30N06G

Any of many Chinese 30A 60V mosfet
They use local manufactured parts mostly copy of any big brand with similar labelling

but it is "current"n"voltage" system
