Gateway EV910B CRT Monitor - oops

(1/1)

RufiS:
Was having issues staying powered on.  Discovered the 20year old slow burn fuse was on it's last leg, connected but not actually attached.  Replaced the fuse, device powered on.  The original issue was the device would power on then just fade to 0 power after 10-20 seconds.  Left device powered on with new fuse, came back 30min later to see if it was still powered on.  Accidentally touched the - terminal of the full bridge to the what appears to be Isolated ground chassis (side of the multi-meter lead brushed against it, I should have taped over it or had shorter leads, lesson learned).  Big spark, fuse blew.  New fuse, insta pop (***Edit***: upon inspection they sent me a 50ma fuse instead of 5A ***Edit***).  Rectifier seems to test green when doing diode tests between it and the L/N AC, everything seems to only be able to move in the correct direction, no shorts.  Thinking hopefully the DC/DC switching IC may have gotten damaged, but not sure if that is going to be a red herring because I'm still a bit new at this.  Anyone have any thoughts? Suggestions?  New fuses set to arrive next week, 10 this time.

Schematic is on page 46/47 of the PDF

RufiS:
New fuses came.  Powered up. (Sounds like something is happening when connected to power and fuse is not blowing) Will connect later and see if it works.

RufiS:
When I measure voltage on C907 I am measuring at the points circled in power.jpeg.  The diag tree in No Power.jpeg says I should be getting 390VDC,  I am getting ~169VDC.  I am also powering it from 120VAC.  Should I be getting the 390VCD the diag says, or would that only be if I was using 240VAC?  I can hear something when connecting the device to power, but the power light never illuminates.  Thinking maybe the power button needs to be replaced, too many presses?  But with the voltage I am seeing, vs what the diag says I should be seeing, I'm not familiar enough.  RMS calculations say I should be seeing about what I am seeing, but I'm not certain due to the diag tree.

RufiS:
After connecting, there is no led light (when i had it apart i had it face down in folded towels and could not see the led), and pressing power causes no change.  Going back to no power diag tree when we have a cool night.  In the meantime.  Why does the KEY line never show up again?  I find it here but nowhere else.  Refer to schematic pg 46.
