Strix connector for kettle? Burned?
« on: November 07, 2019, 07:20:42 pm »
Hi, a short circuit in my the base kettle made the circuit breaker of my apartment go pop. Upon inspection I realized that the base contains just a Strix centre connector. The AC wires are directly connected to its input. No fuses, no nothing.

What is weird is that there is some kind of powder at the base of the connector and on the spades, see photo. What could this greenish powder be? Limescale? How did it get there?

BTW, do you know where can I buy a new Strix connector for the base?

Oxidized copper.
