GE Y 8 1502 - What is this part?
« on: January 19, 2021, 10:18:13 pm »
Any idea what this part is? Marked GE Y 8 1502 . Board says D12 but no polarity marked and doesn't look like any diode I've seen. From 1989 Chamberlain garage door opener circuit board. No schematic, but looks to be across a relay output carrying 120V. Searches have returned nothing of value. Also looking for schematic for Chamberlain board part number 41A3040. Board has "14LG300F" on the screen.

Should have looked harder. Looks like a 150V MOV

I concur with fzabkar. It is a V150LA2 MOV.

It is odd that it has burnt out by the lead with very little discolouration of the MOV body. Normally when MOV fails you would expect the body of the MOV to heat up considerably causing discolouration and cracking of the epoxy coating.

Is the "D" letter stands for  voltage Dependent resistor?
