GE6930 32 LCD TV firmware reset
« on: June 19, 2019, 09:26:23 pm »
I am looking for help, so I can reset the firmware on a GE6930 32" LED television main board MS33931-ZC01-01
or get a schematic of the main board so I can find a reset pin or way to update the corrupted firmware.
does anybody have a schematic diagram or link for this television board ?
the TV had a firmware failure. the on-screen menu stopped working.
so needs a reset.  but the TV remote can not fix the problem.
its a chicken & egg dilemma.  so Im looking for a reset pin on the pcb.
or is it all beyond economical repair?

Your luck would be to put a new pcb in it ?       You have a few on Ebay  but pricy ??

For the defective firmware card , unless one of the company name you provided could tell you how to recover a bad firmware update, or even find if the board has a jtag (programming port / pins)   you wont be able to do anything. Sometime you need specialized software to do that.

Do you have a service center for this Kind of tv ?

Even if you have a reset pin on the board, not sure it is a firmware reset / or a back to original mode ??

Schematics,  Not found
You have:                         HAIER 32E3000 MAIN BOARD MS33931-ZC01-01   who seems to have the same main board ..   32E series
Mainboard for sale :         https://quicktvparts.com/products/haier-32e3000-main-board-ms33931-zc01-01 -- 96$ usd
                                         https://www.tampaelectronicfix.com/product-page/ms33931-zc01-01-main-board-2010008913 -- 50$ usd
                                         https://www.shopjimmy.com/es/jvc-main-board-for-lt-32em75.htm -- very low price --  29$ usd for the board ?
                                         https://torrestvrepairparts.com/products/haier-ms33931-zc01-01-powermain-board -- 36$ usd
                                         https://www.tvpartsguy.com/haier-main-board-ms33931-zc01-01-2010009540/   --  40$ usd

This one at 22$ usd  but zero in stock
https://www.tvrepairtips.org/haier-2010009418-main-board-power-supply-32e3000   --  they say you have to check if you have if  2010009418 is printed on a sticker on your original board.

Seems the same model : Skyworth 32E3000   or   JVC  LT-32EM75  or Quasar Sq3203m

On some tv's or any appliance, you may found an eeprom on the board, sometime with an programmer you can or could do a reprogramming ...

thank you for your reply
looks like its a "beyond economical repair" as its only a cheap 2 yr old Chinese $200 TV
I was looking for a way to save on having to buy parts for it .  or a way get it to work as a video monitor at no added cost.
here is one more image.  and that shows the modal number is G32TV15  not GE6930 as a site did say TV pcb MS33931-ZC01-01  was from a GE6930  :-//  but the back of the set says G32TV15 when I did check it a second time  :palm:

For rewriting the firmware it looks like you're out of luck.
It could be worth the little bother of checking PS voltages though. 5V, 3.3V, 2.5V, 1.8V whatever there is on your PCB.
Check they are in close tolerance with expected values and that ripple is low. I've seen a few cases where this caused curious problems.

that's a good idea,   :-+
it could be nice to know the schematic diagram of the MS33931-ZC01-01 PCB as my search for it on google was unsuccessful.
leading down many Chinese rabbit holes.   |O

Sure having a schematic makes things easier, unfortunately for this class of junk you'd be really lucky to find it.
For checking PS rails you can usually find them by probing around LDO / switching regulators, wider traces and large MLCC's are another hint to where the power rails may be.
