Hi everyone,

I'm trying to repair a cheap rolling code remote control that i damaged during repair injecting a greater supply voltage than expected (3,3V), unfortunately just when I was working on this remote control the power supply went damaged  >:( .
Otherwise the embedded microcontroller an STM8L151G6 was partially damaged and it assorbs about 600ma even if I don't press any button. If I use my bench power supply (after that I repaired it  ;D ) I was able to test it and it worked fine.
So I decided to change the microcontroller and now when I press any button I cannot see the red light flashing as usual.
I think that the reason is that i bought a clean microcontroller without its own software so it quite normal that the remote control is not working.
With the new controller the abnormal absorption gone but unfortunately the remote control is not working  |O .
I'm wondering if I can extract the software from the damaged controller or another working one remote control that I already own.
Just to figureout what controller is I attach an image of this remote controller:

The implementation is using an QFPN 28pin STM8L151G6

This is an example of my remote control

I know that is a cheap item and maybe the repair attemp is harder that buying a new one, but I would like to lear more about this kind of stuff especially how to program it.

Thanks in advice to anyone !

Here is a cleaner link to the "ST chip datasheet":

Please don't use redirect.viglink.com urls -- they get flagged as ad/tracking links.

Here's a direct link to the ST MCU datasheet:
