Title: Gigabyte GA-H55M-S2 motherboard repair
Post by: fubar.gr on September 15, 2014, 03:39:36 pm
Successful Gigabyte GA-H55M-S2 motherboard repair (http://fubar.gr/successful-gigabyte-ga-h55m-s2-motherboard-repair/)

Nothing fancy, I just replaced a couple of mosfets. I had encountered the same problem before so I knew exactly what to look for. The hardest part of the repair was removing the bad mosfets without doing additional damage.

The bad mosfets:

Here replaced with salvaged mosfets from another motherboard:

Also, how's my English? I'm not a native english speaker so I would like some feedback. Is the article intelligible enough?

Not bad, good write up, good English ( and a lot better than some native speakers) and a nice job there.

I completely agree with the posters above. Well written, well documented, decent pictures, links to datasheets are present.

Can't think of any reasonable things on how you could improve the quality of your article. But if you really want me to do some nitpicking (I'm talking borderline level nitpicking here) this is wat I came up with:
Albeit the images are well in focus and have a high enough resolution, some of the foto's show some evidence of an ever so slightly distracting use of a single flash camera. To prevent this you should have used multiple diffused light-sources like a professional photographer would have done.

But hey... I recommend that you forget that I even mentioned this. I'm just rambling for the sake of it. And this is actually the only thing I could come up with.
