This is a Philips  BDM4037UW/27

First part is before disassembly.  (mostly thin lines)
I touched/pressed along the edges of the display, at some point it just worked perfectly.
The I assembled it ...and the second part (filmed in landscape mode) is the result.

What would be the recommended way of fixing it? - or should I just throw it away?

Clean the connectors with some electronics spray that also has conductive lube in it.

really ..connectors?  that's pretty far from what I would suspect. How sure are you about this?
