Title: Glue for sticking down loose PCB tracks and pads.
Post by: philpem on July 26, 2019, 09:41:11 am
I'm trying to follow the IPC7711/21B process for re-attaching some QFP lands. I've been using Araldite Rapid (a 5-minute epoxy).
While this holds the pads great while it's setting, it lets go of the lands as soon as it sets. It's great for holding greenwire patches in place, though.

Does anyone have a favourite, reliable glue for re-sticking loose PCB pads and tracks?

Cheers,
Phil

The grey stuff that's sold for aviation and hi-rel applications?

Cheers, I'll see if I can get my hands on a tube though I recall it's quite expensive.

In the meantime I pitched the Araldite and bought a new tube of it. Looks like my old tube had suffered some kind of degradation because the new stuff works far better!
I didn't see a sell-by date or shelf-life on the tube, but the new stuff is labelled "use within a year" so I'll stick to that this time around.
