Good set of opening / pry tools

For opening general electronics (not just cellphones or something) can anyone recommend an ebay kit or some other place that won't charge hyper inflated prices for a few pieces of plastic and metal ?

I don't want some random ebay junk that breaks after a couple of uses tho either

I've said this in another thread and I'll say it here. You want spudgers that aren't too sturdy. The idea is that you'll damage or break your spudger before damaging or breaking your project.

Try plastic razor blades available at boat stores (and on the Internet) for scrapping stuff off fiberglass boats and other non-scratch uses.

Absolutely the best thing I bought for prying are guitar picks.  Like this set https://www.ebay.com/itm/Guitar-100Pc-Acoustic-Electric-Guitar-Pick-Plectrum-Mixed-Assorted-Colors-W-Box/112451055976

They are cheap, available in variety of thicknesses, and shaped perfectly for prying. And they have never damaged the plastic. They would mangle themselves first, but it is not important.

Good point Mr.Scram. Pretty much any plastic cases I've opened, with improper tools, I've always left marks, or broke stuff

I've cut up plastic containers, but I think I will check out guitar picks

+1 for the guitar picks, absolutely. Just make sure you use use one that matches the color of the device you are opening. Otherwise it wont work that well.

I never had any problems with colors. They don't mar at all. At least one the types of plastics commonly used for electronics enclosures.
