Repair project - Instek GPS-3030 Power Supply
« on: June 03, 2012, 04:15:02 pm »
I got a hold of a an Instek GPS-3030 power supply for 5 bucks. There's a problem with the output. I've tracked down an issue where a 15 volt regulator and a TIP32C transistor are overheating, so there's probably a short somewhere. I'm wondering if anybody would be able to help find a service manual for me, or a schematic of the board. I've scoured google for the past day or so looking for one, but still came up zip. This particular power supply also goes under the models Protek - 305L (analog dial) and the Tenma 72-2010. Thanks!

The manual on their website has a block diagram, which should be at least somewhat helpful.  I would email them ask and tell them how much you like it, but you need the schematic to fix this little problem.

The protek is a rebrand and the Tenma is a clone.
