Title: GW Instek GDM - 8341 - Not working on lower ranges
Post by: InTooDeep on September 11, 2023, 01:41:04 pm
Hi All,

I've got a GW Instek Bench Multimeter and stupidly forgot to wind down the voltage on the High Volt supply I was measuring below 1000V dc (I think it got about 1500V) and now the autorange function does not work and it display wrong results when I manually put it in the lower ranges ( 500 mV, 5V), when I manually put it in the 50V, 500V & 1000V range it still reads correctly.

Does anyone know where to start looking to which component(s) are likely to have been fried (nothing obviously looks damaged on the PCB)?

Looking near where the input wires go it has
a Panasonic  TX2SA-L2-5V
quite a few Analogue devices ADG411BR
a Toward AC38

Any help would greatly appreciated!

Kind regards

Alex
