Hakko FX888D repair?
« on: January 10, 2023, 11:47:04 pm »
Due to a stupid accident, the plastic piece that holds the connector in place, broke on my Hakko FX888D. Is there any way to repair it?

I opened it up last night but I can't see how to fix it. Time to shop for a new one.  :palm:

Sorry it's blurry but you get the idea.

The outer plastic ring smashed into pieces, so somehow I would need to replace it with another plastic ring. Presumably the DIN connector is glued to it.

Could you wedge it in place, with a screw (screwed into the case) pressing against the connector ? I have a Hakko, and lately were I keep it, is probably going to wear out the cords.
