Hameg HMS3010 internal connectors
« on: November 19, 2022, 02:46:53 am »
Hi,
I am having trouble identifying the connectors used inside the Hameg HMS3010 spectrum analyzer.
Maybe someone here will be able to identify them.
They both have 50 pins each, the ones labeled "1" are the same type, just a male and female version. The pin spacing for "2" is 0.5mm, and for "1" is 1.27mm.

Not sure if you are looking for the exact part number. Anyway in case you cannot find the exact part number I would try with this to fix it:

1. Use generic 1.27 pin pitch double row headers
https://www.mouser.es/c/connectors/headers-wire-housings/?mounting%20style=SMD%2FSMT&number%20of%20positions=50%20Position&number%20of%20rows=2%20Row&pitch=1.27%20mm

2. Looks like a standard FPC connector to me, but the closing tab has been ripped away:
https://www.mouser.es/c/connectors/ffc-fpc/ffc-fpc-connectors/?pitch=0.5 mm

for the #2 connector, its been bent pretty hard,  use hot air and flux paste, or liquid flux to remove it,  not sure if the pcb pads received an damage ???

It seems that none of the pads at connector #2 was completely torn from the PCB, some slightly started to lift, but I think it can be fixed.
As for connector #2, in the photo below you can see the part that goes into it.
There is also underlined text "ERNI" on connector #1, maybe this will help in identification.
Thank you for your suggestions so far.

So for #2 you are supposed to slide into it a full height PCB? If so, I have no idea what type of connector it is....

It looks like I was able to find the model of connector #2 used. It is Molex 0512965094, Easy-On 51296 series.
Quite expensive for what it is.
Now all that's left is to find the model of the other connector.

Nice catch, I had never seen an FPC style with 1.30mm height insert...

For #1 These two look similar to yours:

Also quite expensive  :(

Yes, it looks like the exact match will be ERNI 154807 (female) and ERNI 244838 (male).
So the problem has been solved.
Thank you for your help.
